Central Control Room for Cement Production Plant in Italy

09/11/2022

Gruppo SET chooses Bosco to furnish the CCR of the reconverted cement plant in Sarche (Italy)

Italcementi Group, now part of the multinational Heidelberg, is recognized as the fifth largest cement producer globally, with an annual production capacity exceeding 70 million tonnes and a turnover approaching 6 billion euros.

After a period of inactivity of over six years, Italcementi decided to reconvert and reactivate the cement plant situated in Sarche di Calvino (TN), in response to the increase in demand for cement. A new central control room - designed by Gruppo SET and furnished by Bosco - aims to:

  1. Centralize Control - all plant processes can now be monitored and managed in one place.
  2. Ensuring efficient communication - through, for example, the transition to an Ethernet network for faster communications between systems.
  3. Optimize operations - greater efficiency and operational control resulting in improved productivity.

Central Control Room Sarche cement plant: Construction and Setup

The new control center features a graduated 2500XL series Control Console that adapts perfectly to the walls and accommodates 6 operators. In the final version, the customer chose to accessorise the control stations with a rack channel under the work surface, to allow the electronic equipment to be housed while leaving the operators' legs free.

The large graduated control console overlooks a Video Wall 1000Base made up of six 55" monitors, which form a single, fully configurable surface. The Videowall is equipped with cabinets that allow the accommodation of electronic equipment ( for the acquisition of images from IP cameras or systems such as SCADA, Milestone etc...) or even the 19" Rack fixing.
