The Smart Control Room in Venice is an innovative integrated monitoring system of information flows for the management of mobility and urban services.
Called the "digital brain" of the city, this technological system "centralizes in a single place a whole series of data and informations that were previously in different, non-communicating and non-interoperable systems", as declared by Marco Bettini, director of Venis Spa, the company that manages the control center realization.
The 8 operators who manage the Smart Control Center have access to a complete overview of the city and can thus face the challenges related to traffic, waste and emergency management more efficiently.
A «unicum at a national and European level» in which Bosco participated through the design and construction of the control consoles.
Defined by the Corriere della Sera as the «hi-tech sentinel that watches over every corner of Venice», the Smart Control Room won the 2020 Agenda Digitale award from the Polytechnic University of Milan.
The choice of Bosco Control Consoles rather than normal desks was born from the need to contain all the electronic equipment and cable passages within a single location that was also ergonomic and safe.
We have designed the command workstations to ensure effective ergonomic operation of the control room, in normal conditions and in the event of an emergency.
Entering the smart control room in Venice, you are immediately struck by the large video wall with 16 monitors onto which our control room desks "overlook": 8 stand alone Control Consoles 2000s for 8 operators, each equipped with 3 monitors per operator.
In parallel with the smart control room, we have furnished a "satellite room" for the Municipality of Venice where the mayor discusses the data provided by the platform with various companies.
